Before I married, I was an independent, adventurous businesswoman with big plans of my own.
Over time, as my husband and I built a business side by side, I poured more and more of myself into supporting him and our shared dream — and without realising it, my independence slowly eroded.
After I married, my husband and I built a successful business with him, side by side and I believed we were creating a shared future.
Soon after our 20th anniversary, everything changed. He chose a different path, and the life and work I thought we shared disappeared, virtually overnight. I was blindsided and heartbroken.
Looking back, I can see there were warning signs — his infidelity, poor choices and shifting priorities. Like many who love deeply, I minimised red flags and kept everything running. I share this not to criticise myself, but because recognising patterns has been key to my healing — and it’s one of the insights I now help others discover for themselves.
When he chose to leave, the support and stability I had relied on for years disappeared. What had felt like a shared foundation was no longer there. That loss — both personal and professional — forced me to re-evaluate who I was and to rebuild my future from the ground up.
Step by step, I reconnected with my independence, restored my confidence and learned how my thoughts and beliefs were shaping my feelings. Those insights — lived, not just learned — are at the heart of what I offer here.
I’m currently training in counselling skills (Level 3). At this stage I provide voluntary, non-judgmental support, not a paid or fully qualified counselling service. My approach is gentle, practical and paced by you. Together we explore how thoughts influence feelings, and how reframing can grow resilience, hope and self-trust after breakup, betrayal or grief.
